[OSM-talk] osm and mapstraction

Hi,
A couple of questions:
1) I'm working on a rails app for opencycleroute.org which uses the ym4r
mapstraction rails plugin. Disappointingly if I switch the provider to
osm, all I ever get is the Isle of Wight :-) All works OK if I use
google maps or yahoo or the other providers. Am I doing something wrong
or is the osm support not complete yet, or maybe not yet included
downstream in the ym4r rails plugin ?
2) Does anyone have a (copylefted/public domain) worldmap image that can
be used as a background for a kind of positional thumbnail to give a
feel for which part of the world a GPX track covers? Along the lines of
http://mapstats.blogflux.com/demo.html except with just one pin to show
the centre of the track, and I want to use rmagick to generate a PNG.
Last but not least if anyone has any GPX tracks created with offbeat
software or GPSes I'd appreciate it if they send them to me so I can
test my GPX handling code. Or if they are cycle routes, then just go to
opencycleroute.org and upload them yourself and see if they cause errors.
Thanks,
Frank.
