It would be good if this got some more attention. It has been sitting there, slowly expanding, for a while. But I think it's quite an important proposal, and could be a very common feature of well covered maps, as A-Z shows. At least Tiles at Home currently shows buildings as purple areas. When you think about it, buildings are often one of the easiest ways of knowing where you are! Oooh, there's a load of glasshouses, we must be near that plant nursery...

I think a guessed area is going to be better than a line, and you can always add a note to say someone with aerial photography or time on their hands to survey needs to go back and correct it.
