[OSM-talk] Bringing OSM to walkers - countering negative attitudes

My experience of ordinary walkers is same as yours - they
prefer a good old map and compass; even when gps could
    save their lives (see
    http://users.skynet.be/watermael/gps/50546.xhtml )

I thought I could teach them; but my learning-by-doing
tutorial of gps in down-town Bruxelles
    http://users.skynet.be/watermael/gps/pecten/50935.html
    was a lead balloon.

So I suggest start at the top - i.e. Mountain Rescue.
Friend of mine in Austrian Mountain Rescue wouldnt go up
without his GPS + this year's maps of where the crevasses
are. If M'R' endorse, then the others might listen.
