I see that the the new API is still not available?
At least I'm only getting error messages here :(

I did think that is was somewhat rash to expect a major update of this nature 
to actually WORK, without some heavy testing beforehand.

Would it not have made much more sense to perhaps port a section of the map to 
the new format and test that ALL the new facilities worked BEFORE taking the 
existing database off line. ONCE everything was up and working, and people 
were happy, THEN would have been the time to take the old off line, and 
process to the new format.

I still think that SOME consideration needs to be made for replication of the 
data to secondary servers. So that we can identify new data updates and mirror 
them. Then major updates like the current API change could be more carefully 
developed and tested, and synced to the older master copy without any down time?

In the meantime we have lost a long weekend's mapping :(
