[OSM-talk] areodraome / airport WAS Islands

When I look at some other maps, I see that the distinction
between "airport" and "aerodrome" is done there as well, as they get
different icons. Even if an airport is a kind of aerodrome.

If everything gets tagged as aerodrome, please make sure the proper tags
are in place so one can easily recognize the airports on the maps.
Depicting them the same would be as awkward as displaying a big city
and a small village the same way.

Furthermore, there are dozens of aerodromes for every airport, which is
another reason why the airports should be easy to spot.

On the same topic: is there a tag to map the full aerodrome area, like
one would display parks and forests, instead of just having a node in
the middle of it?

Greetings
Ben
