I think there's another aspect of this to think about. It's what people
all around the globe asociate with the tags we use.
The German translation for village eg is "Dorf". And that could very
well have half a dozen of supermarkets, fuelstations, a pharmacy,
restaurants and cafés, more than one church and a local administration
employing up to 50 people, maybe even some industry. That would not yet
make it a town. Though such a place might have a population of 7000.
Given this, we should make sure that when labeling places according to
the english thesaurus that there's also an adequate description of the
tags somewhere. So that nobody who's looking for a town will be
disappointed when ending up at something he'd call a village.
