I think we need to build simple methods for people to report problems in
the map, and we then re-survey based on this feedback. When we have OSM
data commonly used in sat-nav devices, it will be easy to spot roads
that are not shown on the map as you pass them.

We can continue to gather GPS tracks, but remove points that are within
HDOP+20m of roads (or footpaths if the track was taken on foot) on the
map. Then the remaining GPS tracks are places people know to go and
check. Ideally, applications like gosmore would be able to collect these
tracks and filter them as they go, and also highlight to the driver
roads that have errors such as no name or a FIXME tag, so that the
driver can take note of what needs to be done without having to make a
special journey.
