Mark:

1) Hitting D deletes the way, the node doesn't seem to have any effect. I can't seem to make it do what I said about.
3) Validator isn't really what I'm refering to. I would really like to have untagged segments* appear differnetly to tagged ways in josm. No additional clicking, just visually differnet in normal view so its easier to edit, and unways ways have a use. I have tired validator and maplint tongiht. There both considerably more advanced and complex than what I am refering to, and don't simply change the way's display colour. note: this proposal was also made on the wiki discussion page linked to from the main page in relation to 5.0.

Anyone who cares!:

Since I'm replying I'm gunna ask...as I'm having great difictuly grasping this:

redirected from IRC...check this: http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g226/ben_robbins_/whatthehell.png

2 strange things here.

1) is that if I split a circle on 1 node it breaks into 2 bits. The circle doesn't appear to fully weld, so the ends must be open still right? This means if I select 2 nodes which are not the end nodes then it splits into 3 bits. This is odd.

2) If I play with way 1, but then leave it as way 2 is, they do not now operate the same if I make a new way. on one it makes the new way a continuation of the original, on the other it doesn't. I can't really work out what going on, but 2 things wich are visually the same are not the same from josm's perspective.

Hope someone can make more of that than I could.

Thanks,

Ben
