For me, this works fine on Windows with standard latin text, however, the
whole autocomplete thing gets very broken if using a non-latin IME, e.g.
Pinyin entry, if I for example try typing 中, I type zhong in the pinyin
entry pop up window, the autocomplete then starts matching on the characters
I've typed, rather than the chinese character in this case, even before the
IME has returned the character... The inconsistancy of the drop down options
and how they work with tab and cursor key scrolling makes things more, erm,
interesting too... I'll try to document these issues properly when I get
back on my main PC, this one isn't really capable of running JOSM...
6) The delete mode should not delete anything when you click the button.

I'd much prefer if the delete mode was just an action, rather than a mode,
the other way round to what you said... I'd prefer to select things, then
when sure the things I want to delete are selected, and nothing I don't want
to delete, hit delete and for them to go away, but that after the delete I'm
back in select mode, rather than any click resulting in things being
deleted... Right now, I select some things, hit D, then have to hit S
immediately after... Especially working with multiple overlapping or nearby
objects select then delete means I don't need the undo option half as
much...
