+1 from me.
I have seen errors made in "my" area but with no feasible possibility of
contacting the mappers individually, which could have turned out quite
frustrating if they had kept on doing it.

Especially since I know of several contributors who didn't even know you
could "make your edits public", and what that meant.

So I'm very much in favor of making the error "no anonymous edits" quite
verbose as to where to get more info why and what to do about it.
