[OSM-talk] building entrances

Are there any recommended ways of indicating an entrance to a building?

I am currently using 'building=entrance' on a node on the building perimeter
as the most general version.

 

The following tag could provide more information:

'entrance=staff/public/wards/diabetes clinic/deliveries' etc etc

 

Thinking about it, entrances can also apply to parks and other amenities so
should be general enough.

 

Entrances can apply to particular vehicle categories, so we might have
motorcar='yes', 'bicycle=yes' and/or 'pedestrian=yes' 

 

Entrances can of course be through a gate/cattlegrid/door etc or be
unobstructed so some of those tag type could also apply.

 

 

 

Any thoughts?
