Hi all,

I just came back from the JIDEE07 meeting, where a lot of professional
cartographers and map-makers were. I want to share with you some subjects I
consider important:

- Goverment mapping agencies that are working towards the INSPIRE initiative
consider that setting up services is more than enough for people to use them.
But, everybody else wants to be able to download lots and lots of data. So, I
burnt about 20 CDs with the planet from last week, and was able to give about
15 of them away :-D

- We (OSMers) are not the only ones releasing geodata under a CC-by-sa
license!!! I met some (very cute) girls from the Coruña University, that have
released some *very* detailed coast lines, and info about fish banks. I would
really appreciate it if anybody could look into importing that data:

Besides that, there were some very boring talks about "hey, look, we set up a
webpage with our geodata using XXX and YYY", a few interesting ones, and a
lot of wonderful people there.

Cheers,
