i'm using a NaviGPS without problems on a debian etch machine, but connecting
with the USB cable instead of bluetooth. The kernel driver should be loaded
automagically when plugging the NaviGPS in. There's also a perl script to up-
and download tracks, waypoints and routes as it is Navilink software under
windows. Could this be an alternative for you?
