[OSM-talk] Wiki Cleanup: Map Features

Hi all,

I like to start a small cleanup session in the wiki regarding the mess we have
with alle the pages which describe particular keys/values.

At the moment if someone looks for information he has the change to find it on
the [[Map_Features]] page, sometimes older information on some [[Key:name]]
pages as well as under [[Mapping/Features]] and spreaded on serveral other
pages. (Highway tagging or cycleways are the best example for the mess)

OJW startet a first approch to order all this information based on what many
users really use and thus generate a much better [[Map_Features]] page.
Unfortunately, the description for the keys have to be written down somewhere
an at the moment this is on the human unreadable [[Tagwatch/Descriptions]]
page.

I like to change this now to a more centralized method.
This means every Key is specified on a [[Key:<name>]] page and every value
will be described on a subpage [[Key:<name>/<value>]] which might look a bit
wired but in my opinion this wiki URL is more reasonable than
[[Mapping/Features/<somethingelse>]].

In addition if every page has the same layout, it is possible to parse every
page to obtain further information. As you might have seen I've created some
template boxes which i included on some sites. This information is nothing
else than what we have on the Tagwatch subpages but in a more human readable
output for the wiki therefore more people can change the information an help
to keep them up to date.

I'm writing this mainly because i like to get some featback before i start to
move around many pages and ask for deletion of some other pages. (To get rid
of the [[Mapping/Features]] subpages and some other sites)

You can see some examples of what this will look like on the [[Key:highway]]
page.

Cheers
Joerg
