Hi!

I've just checked in a new mappaint plugin version, which can be found
at:
http://svn.openstreetmap.org/applications/editors/josm/plugins/mappaint/mappaint.jar.

It has the following improvements:
- provides lot's of new icons (amenities, historic, ...)
- can display "standalone" dashed lines (e.g. for railways)
- rules can now be applied for both nodes and areas of the same entry
(e.g. for amenity=parking)

The plugin should work with JOSM 1.5 release and any later versions till
today.

As mappaint doesn't provide a version number, the JOSM plugin update
mechanism won't work, please copy the jar file into your plugins dir and
restart JOSM (see
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/JOSM/Plugins#Manually).

Some remarks if you use a custom mappaint style:
- the Wiki page
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/JOSM/Plugins/MapPaint now
explains how to create your own style from the mappaint.jar file
(instead of using subversion)
- the file elemstyles.xml lists the elements now in the same order as
the "Map Features" page (so syncing these two should be easier in the
future)
- old custom styles should still work, but won't show the new things
- if custom styles are broken, plugin is more robust/verbose now
(console output: "style not found", "icon not found", ...)
- standard style now uses icons from
svn.openstreetmap.org\applications\share\map-icons\classic.small
hierarchy (instead of the plain hierarchy as before)

I Hope the new version will prove to be useful, IMO especially the whole
set of icons makes it now much easier to edit things in JOSM ;-)

Everyone is encouraged to upgrade, please let me now about any problems ...

Regards, ULFL
