I have just added a rendering speedup patch (submitted by Brent
Easton; thanks!) to JOSM (SVN version #315) which will find its way
into tonight's josm-current.jar. This patch breaks compatibility with
the old mappaint plugin; mappaint has been patched accordingly.

This means you either need mappaint.jar and josm-latest.jar of
September 2 or earlier, or you need both of September 3 or later.

How conventient that the auto-update mechanism doesn't work for
mappaint, otherwise everyone with an older JOSM version would update
to the new mappaint and it would break ;-)
