Hi Gregory,

BSGPSPDA – downloading missing tiles.

You will need to install BSGPS on a laptop or desktop with an internet
connection.

The first time you run BSGPSPDA you won't have any tiles from the OSM map
but you will need to have your GPS receiver turned on and receiving so that
you can get a local fix. This will be your first 'missing tile'. After
that, when you log any journeys, you will see 'missing tiiles' for the areas
that you are moving into/logging and these will be written to the '
MissingTile.txt file. You then need to copy the MissingTiles.txt file from
your synchronised folder or PDA into the C:/Program
Files/Bettersoftware/BSGPS/Maps folder on your desktop/laptop.

Run BSGPS and click on the OSM tab. A list of the missing tiles will be
displayed in the bottom section of the tab. Click on the Download button
and the directories will automatically be created as the files are
downloaded.

All you need do then, is create a directory called OSM on your PDA and then
copy the downloaded Osmarender directories into it. As my collection of
maps is getting quite large, I have copied the maps and installed the
BSGPSPDA program onto the SD-MMCard which frees up the space on the PDA. Also,
I can just swap the cards over when I want to use the GPS Navigation system.

Before running BSGPSPDA, open the BSGPSPDASetup file (My Documeents) and
edit line 3 'OSM=\<either DEVICE or STORAGE CARD> (Storage Card = the name
of the card recognised by your PDA)

Feel free to contact me if I haven't explained myself very well.

Regards,

LesleyB
