Looking at the way shows this...

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<osm version="0.4" generator="OpenStreetMap server">
  <way id="5475093" visible="true" timestamp="2007-09-03T19:08:57+01:00"
user="jackchallen">
    <seg id="31195521"/>
    <seg id="35972943"/>
    <seg id="35972937"/>
    <seg id="31195521"/>
    <seg id="35972937"/>
    <tag k="name" v="Link Lane"/>
    <tag k="created_by" v="JOSM"/>
    <tag k="highway" v="residential"/>
  </way>
  <way id="5475093" visible="false" timestamp="2007-09-09T12:00:44+01:00"
user="jackchallen"/>
</osm>

Basically, the way contained two of the segments twice... a bit odd...
