It appears to be a character encoding issue when I pulled the planet
dump from the database using the new C dump tool. I believe I've fixed
the issue and am currently re-importing the data into the Mapnik
rendering database and will restart the rendering some time Friday
morning.
I've marked all the tiles which were badly rendered today as dirty again
so they should not hang around too long.
