This is a sensitive issue. Someone had started to flag some tags on  
Map Features as being "approved", which led to complaints; I have  
meanwhile removed those flags.

Why? A tag being used, a tag being in Map Features, and a tag having  
been through the voting process are currently mostly unrelated -  
there are tags that are used but not in Map Features  (and certainly  
vice versa), and there are tags in Map Features that never went  
through the voting process and so on.

Anyone wanting to classify tags in "approved" and "not (yet)  
approved" would first have to define what exactly "approved" means.  
You will not find any formal approval of "highway=motorway" anywhere  
so maybe it should fall into the "not approved" category ;-)

It would be much easier (and subject to less interpretation) if we  
created a category of "common" or "widespread" tags instad of  
"approved".
