Hi,
I have set up a nightly script to extract the OSM for New Zealand, and
then to convert it into a Garmin format which I can load into my GPS.
To render this I am using mkgmap as follows:
java -jar ../mkgmap/mkgmap.jar --mapname=64010001 --description="OpenStreetMap for New Zealand" New_Zealand.osm
When I look at this map either using QLandKarte or on my GPS I don't get
any sea around New Zealand...
Can anyone tell me if there is any simple sort of post-processing I
could do to the New_Zealand.osm I have downloaded that would surround
these islands with water?
The nightly OSM files for New Zealand, as well as the Garmin .IMG files
are available here:

Regards,
Andrew McMillan.
