I have an Edge305 (SirfStar III) and an eTrex Legend HCx (MediaTek) attached to my handlebar. I found SS3 much more accurate and pretty stable even in difficult situations. MediaTek tends to drift off track in woods and near tall buildings. So I use the eTrex to display the current OSM-data and the Edge for logging the track. But it is nice to have a backup if the Edge battery is gone (again). :)
