Prior to August 07 any gap in the chart essentially means I didn't manually
grab the daily stats file. Since August 07 the file has been emailed to me
daily so any further gaps are as a result of stats run failures (three I
think so far).

A few other observations:

The drop in stats numbers for nodes/ways just before the beginning of August
07 I think was as a result of db schema changes made by TomH at the time and
a change in the stats gathering that removed statistics for deleted data,
which previously had still been present.

The large rise in node and way additions between Sept 07 and Jan 08 is the
result of the TIGER import.

If we see the continued growth as it has been to date we will have possibly
100,000 registered users by the end of 2008.

The number of active mappers remains steady at around 10% of the total user
base. Of this 10% around one third upload GPX tracks.
