I've exchanged emails with the guy who runs svalbardmap.com.  His data 
was from a copyright source (Norsk Polarinstitutt) and has "had 
permission withdrawn to use their maps."  ;-)

 I've pointed him to OSM and asked him if he has any GPS traces.  I 
await his reply ...
