[OSM-talk] Rendering barangays for the Philippines

Hi,

We are having a discussion in talk-ph on tagging barangays:

The old practice was to tag barangay as place=village.  By definition
from the Map Features:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Map_Features#Places

The tag place=village is almost the same with what we define as
barangay in the Philippines:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barangay

Of course the "correct" way would be to tag them as place=barangay and
we will do so from now on.  Can we request the renderers to render
them the same as place=village?

Or any other ideas?

PS:  I know others would say just render your own slippymap.  We want
to and we will, but not right now, maybe soon.
