Hi,
I'm currently working with a local designer on a set of svg icons for
our company to use on our rendering of the maps. The goal is to have
a standard set of icons in svg in a consistent style tagged for easy
colour substitution.
These are released as Public Domain as of now but are still a work in
progress - there are still many icons to draw - but I felt we now had
enough that we should let people know what we are doing.
A lot of them are based on existing map icons, US Park icons or other
PD sources (we are not interested in reinventing the wheel) many
others are brand new. Some we are happy with, others still need more
work.

There is a simple bash script that uses sed and rsvg to render them as
a png in your choice of colour and size:

welcome but we have our own list that will get priority for the
