Hi,
I've written a PHP script to pre-render Tiles on the server, into a single
image, to reduce the traffic between the Map-Tile server and the client /
browser.
Now I am looking for a PHP script, which is able to render (PNG) tiles from
the Openstreetmap-Database ( like .Shp/Shapes and other datas i found on
http://download.geofabrik.de/osm/ )
I found this Script ...
http://svn.openstreetmap.org/applications/rendering/wms/
... but i did'nt understand the correct usage - also the FAQ didn't work
to answer the
questions i have. therefore, my 'first developer question will be:
What PHP script-example is currently available to render Openstreetmap
data into (PNG) Tiles ?
Also the mail-archive (DE and EN) was'nt helpful.
My current goal: To reduce the Data-Traffic (of Map-Tiles) between
server and client down to 1/3,
and to attach a 'style-render' engine at the script, to create maps
under the restrictions of a
CSS stylesheet file.
Greetings and thanks,
AndreasG
