At university we were given logins (to the IBM 3084 mainframe - hell
I'm old) which comprised our initials then consecutive numbering. So
Robert H Smith would be RHS1, then if Richard H Stallman came along
he'd be RHS2, and so on and so on.

One chap actually renamed himself 'mathew', nothing else, by deed
poll, just to get the coveted userid M1. Unfortunately the Computing
Service had an even more evil sense of humour and he became XXM10.
