This one could almost be viewed as a parody of one of my earlier posts,
which I admit was almost a stream of consciousness because I was
attempting to write the idea down before it left me.

I fell for it, mostly because due to previous experience as a delivery
driver, I really wish there was some way for GPS systems to take quality
of pavement including traffic calming and overall average speed of
traffic during a certain time of day into account. Fragile freight
hates yuppie speedbumps, and yuppies hate broken cargo. Ironically,
these same folks are often the ones tailgating delivery trucks trying to
get them to speed up in the heights, when the delivery drivers are
trying to take it easy on turns and negotiating traffic calming devices
so the freight they're expecting doesn't get damaged!
That being said, my favorite traffic calming device is the speed
cushion, because my old delivery truck was wide and tall enough to make
use of the fire lane over the central median to avoid hitting the bump
if nobody was coming the other direction. Needless to say, anybody
tailgating me on that maneuver would be in for a bad shock if they
thought I was going around a parked car!
