[OSM-talk] Emergency Access Only - How to tag?

*Hi All,

I've been out gathering some more GPS traces to map unmapped parts of 
Nottinghamshire and have come across a few barriers which are signed 
"Emergency Access Only"

These are basically raised sections of pavement put across the road the 
prevent people driving round them, but which allow **emergency vehicles 
to pass through - they often have what looks like uneven flagstones laid 
in the middle which would make it near impassible for any none ATV to

For the time being I have tagged the one I came across as 
"highway=footway"  (by breaking the way at the nodes either side of the 
break) so as to make it un-routable, but should this be tagged in a 
different manner - i.e. a node saying "barrier:**emergency_access", or 
is there already a correct way of tagging this?

If there is a correct way of doing this I would suggest adding a note to 
the barrier wiki page to make it easier to find.
