[OSM-talk] gosmore shows no map

Have you tried double clicking on one of the places in the search results 
box to see if the map zooms to that feature and you can see the map.

I believe, (I may be wrong), that when Gosmore starts the default map view 
is cantered at 0 degrees latitude, 0 degrees longitude, so you need to move 
the map view to area covered by the pak file.  The method above does this, 
(so goes waiting for the GPS to get a fix, and then choosing "FollowGPSr")

I've always run self complied versions on Ubuntu 8.04 & 8.1, on AMD 64 
hardware ( but the 32 bit version of Ubuntu), and never had any problems.

I get the same error message if I try what you have done, but Gosmore still 
works!
