[OSM-talk] Mapping the sea

I've been experimenting with mapping coral reefs:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=8.8634&lon=120.0689&zoom=13&layers=B000FTTT

The tag I used following what I have seen in others:
subsea=coral_reef

the reef also has a multipolygon relation:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/relation/90430

Is this the "proper" way? Any ideas?
