Dear all,
I was just flicking through the latest Linux Magazine (issue 102) and
noticed on page 18 this year's winners of the Linux New Media Awards.
Just to fill you in: This award is presented annually by Linux New Media
AG, the German mother-company of Linux Magazine, for outstanding
contributions to Linux and Open Source.
OSM won in two out of six categories:
- Outstanding contribution to Open Source / Linux / Free Software, and
- Most innovative Open Source Project.
Congratulations to us all!!!
The other winners are Intel, Google Android, Python, and OpenSSH.
You may access a PDF of the article under this URL:
http://www.linux-magazine.com/issues/2009/102/2009_linux_new_media_awards
From this article:
"Michel Buege and Dirk-Lüder Kreie accepted the prize on behalf of the
project and praised the commitment of the 100,000 or so people who
contribute to the free GIS."
Quite why OSM receives a software award escapes me, but I don't want to
spoil your excitement.
Cheers
Blumpsy
