I must admit you are right... this really made me laugh! :-)
'alternatenumber' is anyway an unknown word to the spell-checker, so I
silently ignored the red line below all such words.

However I also have a more serious remark: In the Czech Republic we
already have a plugin for handling address nodes, which fills all tags
for us. So at least one country should be misspelling-free.

But from the overall reaction to my mail (your mail was the only one),
am I right to conclude that everyone agrees to change the Mapnik style?
