Some possibilities -- different people have different opinions on  
what's useful or required:

* discuss it (mailing list, forum, wiki)
* document on the wiki
* use it
* work it through the feature proposal process on the wiki
* file tickets with the renderers (http://trac.openstreetmap.org/)
* ...
