But it's not just "some webservice." It's a webservice run by an OSM
editor. And it's a webservice that only works for OSM-related URLs (I
suppose if I'm going to say that I should be fair to Andy and Peter
and whomever else asks).
And even if you hate all webservices not run by yourself (which is an
idea that doesn't scale, anyway), then you can treat this like an
experiment to see if people actually CARE about QR codes. I've done
the work, and you can reap the wisdom. If they care, then use
libqrencode (which is GPL2 licensed) with Ruby on the main site. If
they don't care, then you've saved yourself some coding.
I paid $75 for cm.ly -- it ought to get *some* use....
