[OSM-talk] Flickr Now Supports OSM Tags

It's great to see that flickr 'Get's it'.
Sharing is a good thing :)

Now we just need to make a plug-in with JOSM so that as your photo-mapping,
you can load your photos to flickr (or any other site). Or is that already
done? (so all the images are available to everyone)

If so, I think that this worked, because we took the pro-active approach.

It's ALOT easier for companies/organizations/governments to approach us,
than us trying to convince others of what they 'should' be doing.

I'm still convinced that Google Will use OSM as a drop down menu choice for
googlemaps. (like www.bikemap.net does, and hopefully they will switch to
cyclemap as the default... in due time i guess) They (Google) did with
using Wikipedia (but that was AFTER wikipedia started to get really good),
and they realized that their own version of it, (KeyWhole search) wasn't
really working that well.

I think that in 2010, we will see ALOT more volume of data, as more
organizations realize the potential. BTW, in Canada the City of Vancouver
opened up their data (it's still on my todo list to start processing). And
more and more cities will see the value of "getting it" and that sharing
their aerial imagery ccBYsa. is a good thing (hey, we got no problem putting
a 'image came from this city' watermark on the image if they wanted that).

Super News!

Cheers,
