Depending on the source (e.g. not Google, but possibly folks like
website authors or guidebook publishers) it may be worth to ask the
source for permission to use in OSM.  Some people I've asked for
permission to use their own collected data in OSM wanted to first see
a sample of how the result would look in our db or mapnik.
