[OSM-talk] Released: OpenMaps for iOS v4.0. An idea how toincrease OSM awareness.

I would be willing to try OpenMaps at some point and thank you for
creating it!

However, I can't install new iPhone apps currently (1- must delete
others & music I don't want; 2 - I'm locked out of iTunes since my
account was hacked recently and haven't bothered yet to get it
restored; 3 - need new cable to connect to my computer; 4 - must boot
computer into windows since iTunes is unavailable for ubuntu). Thus
need super motivation before I install anything new. :/

The offline maps feature looks great and is probably the biggest
selling point. It may motivate me enough to try the app before I go to
Europe or some place. In the reviews, I do see people complaining
that the offline maps don't work. Has this been fixed? Make this a
really solid and useful feature, and I think more people would try
OpenMaps.

For OpenMaps, not sure I really care about the tweet feature. (Tweet
enough about OSM & do foursquare but only share location w/ friends
and not Twitter)

For editing OSM and adding pois, I'm also interested. Though already
have and use mapzen poi collector and happy enough with it. Who knows
how long Cloudmade will be around or how much they will put into
improving it. So a good alternative would be nice to have and maybe
OpenMaps is it.

Another question is what's the difference between the free and the non-
free app? It's not clear from the descriptions.

I would be happy to give more feedback once I get the app... won't be
immediate but sometime in the next 6 months.

Cheers
Katie
