Hi all,
I have a new system in ruby using transiki, i can import excel sheets.
who has excel sheets to geocode, please host them on google docs, this
system will take the rss feeds and create
ruby on rails scaffolds for the sheets. then we will import them into
transiki points and allow for users to select them with the slippymap. this
can be used for geocoding. anyone want to help?
this will also be usable and useful for openstreetmap as well. the code
should be compatible.
https://github.com/h4ck3rm1k3/transiki/tree/testgdata

Are the sheets with the gas stations from austraila imported yet? we can use
that as the test data.

The importer can now import the excel sheets with garmin tags etc,
schematroll. I have scripts to read also from the openstreetmap wiki
mapfeatures. There is a new tagging system with structure tags. tag_tags.
that can be used to describe all tags dynamically inside the system.
also ruby code for editing nodes and tags on the webpage without any flash
or java.

I ask you all to help out with this transiki code, it can be ported back to
the main osm branch.
it can be used as a test bed of a new osm application.

One thing that I would like is a webpage for just restaurants, something
that we can give to noobs to collect restaurant data right on the webpage
with localizations.
