just because it works fine in one renderer or the other doesn't mean
it is mapped correctly. IMHO if there is not a pedestrian area (like
in this case, where there is a building), you shouldn't map one, but
cut a hole.

I don't agree with you here, because the building _is_ inside the
park, it is a part of it (otherwise: MP), that's why a multipolygon
would be wrong.
