Hallo everyone!

Users from the city of Aachen, Germany have started a project to map
buildings etc. based on public announcements. These notices are
published by the municipal authorities, and fall into the public domain
according to German copyright law. Many of the announcements contain
detailed maps. This is a great opportunity for us, as Aachen hasn't got
good Yahoo coverage.

I think the experience that we are collecting and documenting during
this project will be helpful for other regions of Germany, as well as
for other countries with similar copyright law.

Anyone is welcome to take part in this project. If you speak German, you
can find information and instructions on the project page:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:Aachen_Datenquellen

If you don't understand German, but would like to take part in the
project and don't know how, please contact us so that we can translate
relevant parts of the instructions into English.

Daniel
