Yes of course many of those ideas I wrote down are not new. But I disagree
with your conclusions. If people already thought about it and started
coding and couldn't solve the problems, doesn't that suggest that this is
*not* one of those problems where "it doesn't help to talk about it"? To
me this suggests we need more talking, not less. :-)
But I think you are partly right. I believe we can't think the whole problem
through to the end. Its much too complex for that. But if we can agree on
some framework, a rough design, then the details will come.
And I think the "social issues" are more important than the technical issues
here. First we have to decide whether we want to go down this road at all.
