As you might know the theme of this year's State of the Map is change. But
change into which direction? Change into what? And why change? Why is
'steady as she goes' not fine enough?

OSM's Future Group (FG) will be present at State of the Map in Birmingham.
On Saturday 7 September at 10 AM all attendants of SOTM will have the
possibility to follow an interactive workshop in which the participants are
split in couples of two, writing down their dreams for the long term (about
2020) future of OSM and presenting them to the other participants of the
workshop. The dreams can be anything, like 'OSM is the leading map data
provider in the world' or 'OSM really helps making the world better for a
lot of people' or 'OSM has vibrant social communities all over the world'
or '50% of the registered users will be active mappers'. Or, by the words
of Henk Hoff
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Toffehoff/2012_OSMF_Board_Elections_Manifesto
'the
world's most used map'.
More information can be found at the bottom of this page:

Several attendants of SOTM will be interviewed by a journalist for an
article on the future of OSM. There's room for two more attendants of SOTM
to be interviewed. If you want to be interviewed in Birmingham, than please
send your details by August 10th to osmned at gmail.com.

See you @ SOTM!

On behalf of the Future Group, Johan
