Yes, its a interesting approach.
Maybe keep way displayed on tag line.

Last month I have also added a textual tags (only) editor in Osmose in
order to replace the RawEditor.
Quick look of the editor in wiki :

It support display of "diff" on tags.
You can also test it on live Osmose after loggin with OAuth and edit
something from a popup.
