Fraunhofer IAIS did some comparison.
If you don't have access to a reference data set it might be difficult to
come up with a number.
If a rough estimation might be OK, you could use my website
http://compare.osm-tools.org/ and count red pixel from a screenshot. Divide
that by the average street-width in pixel on that scale and then you have
the length of the road network (in pixel at scale) which is not in OSM dataset
but in Google.
