There is an advantage of something like:
    payment:transponder:[brand]=yes/no
In that it lends rendering software show a wireless payments symbol,
even if it does not specifically know about the given brand of
transponder or toll tag.


But over time, the USA Security Agencies will make this all obsolete
with "tolling information awareness" :-)

The San Francisco area is nearly there, with 100% coverage of licence
plate scanners, removal of the job of "toll taker" on some bridges,
and billing semi-coordinated with vehicle licence fees.  One does not
actually need the ETC tag to properly pay electronically.
Thus the bridges are more properly marked as supporting "FasTrak
payment" than a "FasTrak Transponder".
