I intentionally
avoided the word "own". What I mean is that our users touch a number of
objects by either creating, changing or removing them. Is that correct?

Every time this happens I would like OSM to log that in such a way that
it is possible to track the object (even if the osmid changes). This of
course comes at a cost with every changeset, but I think its worth it
because it makes it possible for users to "follow" an object.
