Here in the UK I found GPS tracks to be better than nothing but not
"good", as a reference for aligning imagery.  No better than a couple
of metres, even using junctions with heavy and perpendicular traffic,
trying to eyeball a centroid.

It turns out we're blessed with Land Regisitry boundaries
which we can regard as "perfect", and comparing with fences
(usually between gardens of suburban houses), get better than 10cm.
