I got an email too in German language. While reading it, I stumbled up 
on wording at some places. It was confusing because I'm unsure if the 
want to ask me or if I have to ask them questions about OSM.

My guess is they got the address and names from public sources like 
mailing lists, maybe conferences or lists of service providers.
